Unity vs Hatred…

If the love I feel for my fellow man could close the gap, span the chasm between us, I would pray to love more strongly.

This country and it’s people are broken. Splintered. Anger and hatred are growing, spreading, like a vine that is choking us to death. We are dying from the inside out…and I have no idea how to stop the growth.

Blacks hate whites, whites hate blacks, this political group hates that political group. Image result for cartoons about hate groups

I home schooled a small group for several years. Informing them that we would be starting a studying of Native American history the next day, one boy exclaimed, “Why do we need to be studying about “niggers?” Shocked to my core, I explained that I was part Native American.

Why would he say such a thing? Only then did I realize why my mother had never disclosed my heritage to her family when I was adopted. Their attitude towards me would have changed from mild dislike to hatred. She wasn’t prejudiced, she was trying to protecting me from it. Our children believe what we teach them to believe.

IImage result for cartoons about hate groupst is ludacris to believe that you are better than anyone else because you look or believe differently. I hate the groups who spread such lies and teach their children to believe the same way. It is evil; wicked.

Each and every group has shameful things in their past. Our histories are dotted with evil acts done in the name of color, race, and religion. It is tragic and we must learn from them; never repeat the mistakes. Yet, it is the past. We can no more change them than we can stop time. How can we ever Image result for cartoons about hate groupsmove forward if we continue to try and make the people of today pay for crimes they did not commit? How is destroying monuments, statues, and flags going to change anything that happened?

We are one nation under God, but shattered and broken almost beyond repair. Can we not come and reason together? Can we not love each other with understanding and Image result for cartoons about hate groupscompassion? Respecting and embracing our differences, becoming stronger and healing our nation? Mutual respect for differing opinions, ideology, color…and defending each other’s right to have them, is vital for healing to begin.

Again, if I could love better, love stronger, love more completely; heal the wounds we have inflicted on each other, I would pray for the ability to do so.

God loves us all. He makes no distinction, has no favorites. He loves the straight, the gay, the transexual, the black, the white, the terrorist, the Muslim, the Hindu…and the list goes on and on. No one is exempt until the day of judgement. Image result for cartoons about God's love

We can make ourselves stronger, better, if we will only put aside the hate.

Baby, It’s Cold Outside…

26360-z135942270For the third day in a row, the temperature has dropped to the low teens. For southern girls like me, it’s nearly a death sentence! Wrapped like a bag lady, I’ve been out every single day…. and still have to go back to the store tomorrow. Heaven, help me!

I am writing on my brand new computer – my first new one in many years. It only took eight hours to get all the updates done – on my brand new computer,,,,sigh.

My very first flat screen TV is still in the box….have to get Comcast out to install a new box, so no point in taking out that bad boy yet. My mouth is watering,,,

My new bedroom set will delivered on the fourth along with a new mattress, which cost as much as the bedroom furniture…it had better kiss me good night and rock me to sleep.

All my bills have been paid in full!!!! Whoo Hoo!

Yes, God has blessed me with a windfall…my sweet baby 401K grew up into a big boy! He is now busily at work, taking care of mamma. Sweet thang, indeed. LOL Because of my sweet thang, I have also been able to donate to several causes I have wanted to support, but couldn’t afford…a real blessing!

At the end of 2017, I have to say it’s been a very good year. The Lord has taught me manyFB_IMG_1465866581750 valuable lessons – some harder to swallow than others,  has given me a softer heart,  a much better attitude, improved my health, and given me hope. I have my sweet furfaces (who are standing watching me – they’ve only been out 20 times today), to drive me happily crazy as they chase my birds and squirrels, a roof over my head, I am warm and safe, and I have a family I love.

Father, thank you for blessing me and so many others with so very much. We are warm, well fed, with more than we need. I ask your mercy on those who are less fortunate. The poor, the hungry, the cold, and those who are ill without family to care for them. I pray for my fellow Christians around the world who are suffering and dying for their faith. Grant them strength, courage and comfort in these dark times. Bless the missionaries who are spending their lives to spread the good news of the Gospel. Give us all the courage to spread the Gospel with boldness, as we should. Forgive me for the times I am thoughtless, selfish, and judgmental; not living as you have commanded we live. Help me to always show love and understanding for everyone I meet. Thank you for bringing me to this new year, this new start. I pray these things in JESUS Holy name, Amen.

Broken People & Dangerous Times…

wallpaper1As a volunteer at Global Media Outreach, I answer letters from people seeking the truth of Jesus and answering questions from other followers around the world. It is a wonderful opportunity and sometimes a great burden.

One young girl wrote who was contemplating suicide. As a new Christian, she still felt she had no hope because of the emotional abuse she was suffering at the hands of her mother. She felt everyone would be better off if she wasn’t in the world. I sent many letters that included hotline numbers and articles without response. Another young man wrote stating that he knew he didn’t deserve Jesus because his Christian family had told him that God hated him because he was gay. They are forever in my heart and prayers.

Then there are the courageous men and women who write from Muslim controlled countries. They take their very lives in their hands by doing so. The courage it must take to be a Christian in a country where being found out could well cost not only their lives, but the lives of their families as well. We in this country have no idea of what real faith can cost.

The alcoholics, the drugs abusers, the lost, the lonely, the hurt. The women who have been abandoned by a husband;  left to try to feed their children without any means available to them. Searching for organizations that will step in and help feed them, put shoes on their feet, clothes on their backs, and a roof over their heads. It is heartbreaking to realize just how desperate the needs are and how limited the resources.

But, God promises His Word will not come back to Him empty. That the scriptures I send will accomplish just what He wills. That this is only temporary and heaven awaits those of us that believe. That my small prayers are heard as are the prayers of those who cry out for help to Him. That God offers hope that in this dark, broken world there is still a light that shines for the followers of Jesus.
